About Sarah

I grew up a dancer. Movement was never just exercise for me. It was expression, a language, a way of making sense of the world. That thread never left.

My first real encounters with yoga came in my teens, a few classes at local gyms, DVDs borrowed from the library. But it was my mother who pulled me in deeper. She lives with MS, and over the years has come to rely on a wheelchair. On Saturday mornings, a teacher would come to the house and practice with her in the living room. Sometimes her sister joined. Sometimes I did too. Watching my mother find presence and ease in her body, on her own terms, planted something in me I did not understand yet.

In college, a yoga class I took for gym credit changed that. The teacher reached me in a way I was not prepared for. I found more on my mat that semester than I thought a mat could hold. Yoga was not just movement. It was a framework for shifting how I saw and moved through the world, all the way down to the root.

The practice grew quietly from there. In 2017, I completed my first teacher training, not because I wanted to teach, but because I wanted to go deeper into my own practice. A few years later, after a full 200-hour training, I started teaching weekly classes. What began as a personal inquiry became something I could no longer keep to myself.

Somewhere along the way, the plants pulled me in too. I trained as a Vitalist Herbal Practitioner, spent years studying Ayurveda, and fell into a lasting fascination with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Meditation, breathwork, somatic practice, and nervous system regulation wove themselves into everything I teach, quietly, the way roots do. Twenty-five years of practice has a way of showing you how it all connects. The mat, the garden, the body, the earth.

Today, Swelliver Yoga holds all of it. I believe the smallest shifts matter most; what happens in one body, in one garden, in one quiet room, ripples outward whether we can trace it or not. Tend to yourself first. Tend to the people right in front of you next. The collective changes the same way a garden does, one root, one season, one return to center at a time. All of it rests on the same belief. What you are searching for is already inside you. The practice is simply the reminder.

I would love to work with you.
